'ANYONE can become a pianist', whether you are just starting or advanced, regardless of hand size. I truly believe that learning piano is not only for people with natural talent. Through many years of performing, accompanying, and teaching, I have seen students improve and grow with steady practice, patience, and encouragement. My goal as a teacher is to help all students gain confidence while enjoying music at the same time.
Every student learns differently, so lessons should be shaped around each student's needs, goals, and pace. Some students do best with structure and clear goals, while others respond better to a more creative and flexible style. I try to understand each student's personality and learning style so lessons can be both effective and enjoyable.
In my teaching, I focus on building a strong foundation through technique, rhythm, note reading, and musical expression. At the same time, I want students connect with learning without feeling too much pressure or being afraid of mistakes. I do my best to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, trying new things, and continuing to grow.
From bottom of my heart, simply my ultimate goal is to help students develop a lasting love for music. Piano lessons are not just about learning how to play, but also about building creativity and confidence. If students leave each lesson feeling encouraged and motivated to keep learning, then I feel I have done my job well.
Sincerely,
pianist Hannah O. Kim ♫
